The Inclusive Denver Project

Our Story

The Inclusive Denver Project (IDP) began in 2020 as a deeply personal journey rooted in lived experience and a growing need for more inclusive community spaces.

Founder, Tinsley Ore, first encountered the disability system as a case manager then as a mother of twins with autism and complex medical needs. Through this experience, she realized how difficult it is for families to access inclusive, sensory-friendly community spaces and supports. Every day life often becomes centered around therapies, appointments, caregiving, and navigating systems not designed for accessibility, regulation, or belonging.

Tinsley is also neurodivergent, living with both ADHD and autism. From her own lived experience, she understood what it felt like to move through the education system, workplaces, and community spaces that were not built for neurodivergent minds, often overlooking strengths, communication styles, and unique ways of learning, connecting, and contributing.

As she later witnessed similar barriers through her children’s experiences, a clear pattern emerged — families are not disconnected from community, they are navigating systems and spaces not designed with them in mind.

The Inclusive Denver Project was created to change that.

IDP brings a new approach to inclusion by providing neuroinclusive, sensory-conscious programming to communities. We work on removing barriers and creating spaces where neurodivergent individuals and their families can fully participate in community life. We collaborate with existing service providers to expand accessibility and outreach of creative arts and enrichment programming, create and host neuroinclusive events and resource fairs, and offer sensory support for existing community events and spaces.

We use creativity in our approach by designing spaces and programs that use creative learning and self-expression as a way to make friends and promote celebration of self!

We believe communities should not require people to adapt to them — communities must learn, design with, and collaborate with the people they serve.

Established

In September 2023, The Inclusive Denver Project was formally established to expand this work across Denver and beyond, creating accessible, community-centered spaces where all families can feel welcomed, supported, and included.
